Benesch’s Environmental Law & Litigation Practice Group provides a full range of services to our clients on a national and international basis, concentrating our practice in six key areas: Counseling/Compliance, Environmental Disputes, Cleanup, Transactional; Rulemaking/Legislation and Public Utility Issues.
Having an active practice in these areas uniquely positions Group members to identify trends in environmental law, which aids in counseling a variety of clients in litigation; business transactions involving environmental issues, whether ongoing, newly arising or transactional in nature; and both attaining and maintaining compliance with environmental requirements.
Our environmental attorneys regularly serve on legal teams dealing with corporate (securities and mergers and acquisitions), financing, real estate, bankruptcy and litigation matters. Our team has a tradition of providing results-based counsel to clients; resolving difficult regulatory compliance, permitting and air compliance issues, investigating and managing environmental issues related to corporate acquisitions or divestitures, disputes and loan transactions, and providing creative solutions for redeveloping and financing environmentally impacted real property or brownfields.
Our lawyers routinely manage our clients’ matters in jurisdictions across the United States and in foreign countries. As appropriate, we involve local counsel to assist us with compliance with local law and maintaining positive relationships with local officials.
Benesch's Environmental practice is recognized by Chambers® and the firm is ranked in Environmental Law by Best Lawyers® “Best Law Firms.”
