Benesch Transportation & Logistics Vice-Chair Jonathan Todd spoke with WKYC 3News, the NBC affiliate in Cleveland, regarding the potential economic impact of impending tariffs on goods from China, Mexico, and Canada. Economists and supply chain experts warn that these tariffs would likely lead to increased costs for consumers and could disrupt the supply chain.
In the article, Jonathan, highlights that “companies have to make up the difference in some way and so it’s often the case the actual burden of paying those go to the customers.” He also notes that “if the tariffs go into effect, I think it’s fair to say that we’re entering a higher cost environment for goods especially goods that are imported into the U.S. and a lot of companies I talk to are preparing for that.”
