Benesch is pleased to announce that attorneys Thomas A. Lidbury and Justin L. Monday have joined Benesch.
Thomas A. Lidbury joins Benesch as a partner in the Litigation Practice Group and works in the Chicago office. He is a skillful litigator and electronic discovery practitioner. He has tried dozens of cases to verdict, including winning a $159 million jury verdict. He has written scores of appellate briefs and orally argued several appeals in state and federal courts. He has deep experience handling complex litigation with nine and ten figures at stake in a wide variety of areas, including consumer class actions, data breach class actions, securities, insurance coverage, banking, pharmaceutical and medical devices, mass torts, franchise, ERISA, civil rights, employment and commercial matters. Tom is also a leading practitioner in eDiscovery. He is a founding member of the influential Seventh Circuit Electronic Discovery Pilot Program Committee (discoverypilot.com) and is co-chair of the Principle Development Subcommittee. He has spoken and published extensively on the subject of eDiscovery, including in E-DISCOVERY (ICLE 2012), and ELECTRONIC DISCOVERY DESKBOOK (PLI 2009)). He has served as national discovery counsel for global companies and is often brought in by other firms as an expert, including testifying expert, in challenging eDiscovery disputes. Tom received his J.D. from Washington University in St. Louis in 1992 and his B.A. from the University of Chicago in 1989.
Justin L. Monday joins Benesch as an associate in the Litigation Practice Group and works in the Cleveland office. He has experience protecting the interests of clients in civil litigation involving asbestos, transportation, workers’ compensation, landlord-tenant disputes, and general liability matters. He also has experience collaborating with insurance claims representatives and in-house counsel to achieve cost-effective resolutions of claims, litigating at both the small claims and common pleas level, managing written discovery and conducting party and witness depositions and mediating civil matters to successful resolutions. Justin received his J.D. from Cleveland State University, Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, magna cum laude, in 2011 and his B.A. in Political Science from Vanderbilt University in 2004.
