As Benesch continues to add to its roster of top-notch legal talent, the firm announces the hiring of five attorneys in Cleveland.
The firm is pleased to announce the additions of attorney Megan Parsons, who joins Benesch as Of Counsel, and associates John Breig, John Dagon, Yelena Katz and Brian Mielcusny. Parsons joins the firm’s Litigation and Transportation & Logistics Practice Groups; Breig and Dagon join the Litigation Practice Group; Katz joins the Labor & Employment Practice Group; and Mielcusny joins the Corporate & Securities Practice Group.

Parsons has broad experience in transportation and logistics, general corporate law, capital raising and commercial transactions. She has operated as general counsel for startup and growth stage businesses, including a nationally ranked, top North American 3PL, providing counsel on all aspects of business and transportation law from employment and corporate governance to regulatory analysis, insurance, transportation related service agreements and freight claims.
Parsons received her J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 2007 and her B.S. in Political Science, magna cum laude, from East Tennessee State University in 2003.
Breig focuses his practice on all aspects of civil litigation, both state and federal. John also has experience handling administrative, appellate, and land use and zoning matters.
Breig received his J.D., summa cum laude, from Cleveland State University, Cleveland-Marshall College in 2017 and his B.A. in Justice Studies from Kent State University in 2014.
Dagon focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation, including contract disputes and business torts. He also has experience litigating product liability matters and defending clients in medical and legal malpractice claims.
Dagon received his J.D., magna cum laude, from Case Western Reserve University in 2018 and his B.A., magna cum laude, from the University at Buffalo in 2015.
Katz works with employers on a variety of federal and state labor and employment matters, including issues arising under the FLSA, ADA, ADEA and Title VII, as well as other federal and state employment-related laws. She has experience representing clients in collective and class action wage and hour cases as well as in NLRA litigation and counseling
Katz received her J.D., magna cum laude, from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in 2014 and her B.S. in Business Management, magna cum laude, from Case Western Reserve University in 2011.
Mielcusny focuses his practice on counseling private equity funds and their portfolio companies, as well as the Firm’s public and privately-held clients, with respect to wide range of transactional matters, including leveraged buyout transactions, mergers and acquisitions and equity financings. He also counsels clients on securities and general governance and reporting matters, as well as issues relating to venture capital and the formation of private equity funds and joint ventures. Brian has been recognized as a Rising Star for 2018 and 2019 in capital markets: debt, capital markets: equity, and M&A practice areas by the IFLR1000, a guide to the world’s leading financial and corporate law firms and lawyers.
Mielcusny received his J.D., magna cum laude, from the Cleveland State University, Cleveland-Marshall College of Law in 2015 and his B.A., cum laude, from the University of Dayton in 2012.
Parsons, Breig, Dagon, Katz and Mielcusny are joining Benesch’s Cleveland office during a time of significant growth for the firm. More than 70 attorneys have joined the firm in the last 18 months. Since making its debut on the Am Law 200 list in 2016, the firm has advanced 19 places and is currently ranked at number 176.
