How did you start working with Benesh?
Really it’s because of my relationship with Jeff Wild, Chair of Benesch’s Real Estate & Environmental Practice Group. I have high regards for Jeff as a very competent and intelligent person and an excellent lawyer, which is why I’ve been working with him for at least 20 years.

Of course, it’s the nature of real estate development to always be on the move. What’s exciting in the works right now?
Our company has evolved into being one of the premier experts in mixed-use development in the country. We’ve also entered into and expanded dramatically our activity in student housing. We’ve always been active in building apartments—we’re about to begin an apartment development in Los Angeles right now. Something that has also grown dramatically in the last few years is our acquisition activity, focused primarily on existing shopping centers, but also other classes, like office and residential. Acquisition has become a very big part of the industry. In all of these realms, Benesch has the expertise and the reputation nationally to deal with the myriad of issues that are involved in all of those types of transactions.
