Benesch is pleased to announce that partner Juan Morado Jr. is joining a delegation of Chicago civic and business leaders, headed by Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot, for a trade visit to Mexico City.
The trip celebrates the deep economic, cultural and social ties between Chicago and Mexico and, in particular, the 30-year-long sister city relationship between Chicago and Mexico City.
Morado joins six City of Chicago officials and delegates from businesses and organizations including BMO Financial Group, architecture firm Gensler, the Illinois Restaurant Association, the University of Illinois System and the 1871 tech business incubator. The group will engage in roundtable discussions with the Mexican Business Coordinating Council and attend the North Capital Forum, organized by the US-Mexico Foundation.
"Juan is a great representative of the firm and our city,” said Benesch Chicago Partner-in-Charge Manish Mehta. “He is truly passionate about helping business and communities thrive in the global economy.”
Morado maintains a host of other commitments to civic life. He is a Director on Chicago’s Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority (MPEA) Board, a member of the National Kidney Foundation of Illinois, and a member of the Supreme Court of Illinois Rules Committee. He also serves on the Board of Directors at La Casa Norte, a not-for-profit organization focused on housing.
“I am thrilled to be part of this visit,” said Morado. “There are so many great opportunities to build and strengthen relationships while we work together across borders.”
At Benesch, Morado is a member of the Healthcare+ Practice Group, and serves as Co-Chair of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee. Focusing his practice on health care matters, he advises hospitals, health systems, physician groups, consulting firms and pharmacies on complying with regulatory requirements and implementing industry best practices. He is one of the leading Certificate of Need (CON) attorneys in Illinois, working with clients to establish new hospitals, surgery centers and nursing homes in communities where they’re needed most, and to guide client on the acquisition of healthcare facilities.
