The CBA’s DICE Committee seeks to go beyond just talking about hate to educating and equipping lawyers so they may individually address and challenge anti-minority attitudes and sentiments. The DICE Committee believes that preventing hate begins with awareness, acknowledgment, and, ultimately, self-reflection. This fall, DICE will present a two-part series focused on hate and hate crimes entitled, “Commentary and Conversation: Hate and What You Can Do About It.” This second session will focus on racially motivated hatred toward Asian, Black and Latinx communities, with leaders from area civil rights organizations. After a general overview of the current climate, lawyers who belong to the groups will lead break-out groups delving into how lawyers can be allies in the struggle against hate in all its forms.
