Benesch's Public Finance, Real Estate and Construction attorneys represented The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in the development, financing and construction of its new global headquarters complex in Akron, OH, which broke ground earlier this month.
The headquarter project is scheduled to be completed in early 2013 at which time, Goodyear will relocate approximately 2,000 associates into the building. The new building will connect with Goodyear's existing Innovation Center, which is currently home to more than 800 associates, and will serve as a central campus in Akron for the global company.
The project financing consists of an intricate and complex structure of public (State, County and City) and private funding.
Benesch represented Goodyear in all facets of the transaction including the public financing, real estate and environmental issues and construction. The Benesch team was lead by Lee Korland, Barry Miller and Howard Steindler, and included Marilyn Dulic, James Friedman, Jean Kerr Korman, and Kevin Margolis.
The Wall Street Journal named this deal "Deal of the Week" for the week of April 25, 2011. Click here for details: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748703856704576285393830681976.html
