Juan is a Partner and National Co-Chair of the firm’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. He manages a robust practice alongside leadership positions within and outside the firm. He understands the needs of a diverse array of stakeholders and brings a proactive vision to his legal practice and his service in the legal community and beyond. Juan is a trusted advisor to executives and a seasoned healthcare regulatory and policy attorney with a history of public service and mentorship of young attorneys and law students throughout the city of Chicago and the state of Illinois. He has extensive experience counseling his clients on navigating a wide variety of business and legal challenges. Juan often coordinates with state and federal agencies and provides strategic counsel to private and public corporations, organizations, and individuals. Juan and members of the Benesch team have been integral in shaping the future of healthcare delivery in Illinois by advising clients on the acquisition of existing or the establishment of over 15 hospitals and over 25 surgery centers and long-term care facilities.
In addition, Juan serves as a board director and Vice-President of La Casa Norte, a Chicago-based organization that provides access to housing for children and families facing homelessness. Juan is also Chair Emeritus of the Latino Leadership Council and serves on the boards of organizations such as the Metropolitan Pier Exposition Authority, Illinois Supreme Court Committee on Rules, Hispanic Lawyers Association of Illinois, National Kidney Foundation of Illinois, HLAI Charities, and the We CAN Achieve Foundation.
