Alan Schabes will continue to serve on the prestigious group that nominates candidates for the highest honor in health law.
Benesch, one of the fastest-growing AmLaw 200 business law firms in the country, is pleased to announce that Partner Alan Schabes has been reappointed to serve on the American Health Lawyers Association (AHLA) Fellows Coordinating Council for another year. The Council is responsible for nominating candidates to be admitted as an AHLA Fellow, which is the highest honor that AHLA can bestow on an individual practitioner.
Alan, who was first elected as a Fellow in 2019, is a nationally recognized health care lawyer who represents health systems, hospitals, academic medical centers, physician groups and other health care providers in a wide range of regulatory, transactional and litigation matters. He has extensive experience in health care fraud and abuse, compliance, reimbursement and government investigations. He also advises clients on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, affiliations and other strategic alliances in the health care sector. Among his numerous accolades, Alan has been ranked in Healthcare by Chambers USA 14 years in a row, and he was named a Thomson Reuters Stand-Out Lawyer in 2024.
"I am honored and humbled to continue to serve on the AHLA Fellows Coordinating Council and to be part of the process of recognizing the most distinguished and accomplished health lawyers in the country," said Alan. "AHLA is the premier organization for health law professionals, and I am proud to be a member and a leader in this community."
AHLA is the nation's largest, nonpartisan, 501(c)(3) educational organization devoted to legal issues in the health care field. AHLA has more than 12,000 members, including attorneys, in-house counsel, health care executives, consultants, regulators and academics. AHLA Fellows are selected based on their career-long achievements, contributions and dedication to the field of health law.
