Benesch is pleased to announce a new gender neutral parental leave policy.
Benesch’s parental leave plan has always been gender neutral but the firm has recently adopted an industry leading position of 20 weeks leave paid at 100% for new parents and the ability to take an additional 6 weeks unpaid. This is an improved plan from offering 12 weeks of paid leave of the 26 week leave eligibility.
Liz Gillmore, Benesch’s Chief Human Resources Officer said, “We are thrilled to roll out our new parental leave policy. It is directly aligned with our unwavering commitment to support our team and their families. As Benesch’s exponential growth across the country continues, we need to be flexible and supportive for our attorneys. We believe this is the longest paid parental leave in the law firm world and we are proud to be leading the industry.”
In all, more than 100 attorneys have joined Benesch in the last three years, which has also seen the opening of a San Francisco office and the expansion of practices including, class action litigation, intellectual property litigation and labor and employment. Since making its debut on the AmLaw 200 list in 2016, the firm has advanced 19 places and is currently ranked at number 176.
