Benesch is pleased to announce that Stephen Lee, Daryll Marshall and Juan Morado Jr. have been honored by Crain’s Chicago Business as three of the magazine’s 2019 “Notable Minorities in Accounting, Consulting and Law.”
The annual list, which this year expanded to also recognize those in the accounting and consulting sectors, celebrates men and women who represent a cross section of the Chicago-area accounting, consulting and legal community, many of whom have practiced with distinction for decades.
“We are proud to see Stephen, Daryll and Juan in such distinguished company on this list. As we built our Chicago office in 2019, our goal was to assemble a team of talented, dynamic lawyers whose diversity reflects the broader Chicago community, as well as our diverse clients,” said David Pope, Chicago Administrative Partner. “All three men serve as community leaders and are actively engaged in bringing new perspectives to our firm and to our clients. Stephen, Daryll and Juan exemplify that spirit of inclusion.”
For almost 20 years, Lee has handled complex cases both as a federal prosecutor in Chicago and as a white-collar criminal defense attorney representing large companies managing investigations.
He provides his clients with cutting-edge insight into the government’s use of analytics to drive its investigations.
Lee has successfully litigated dozens of trials and appeals on behalf of the United States, including appearing before the U.S. Supreme Court.
Marshall serves as Chair of the Corporate/Private Equity Finance Group. With more than twenty years of experience, he represents lenders and borrowers but primarily focuses on private equity sponsors, and public and private borrowers in connection with leveraged buyout financings for acquisitions.
He has led complex financing transactions — both secured and unsecured — which include leveraged buyouts, cross-border transactions, senior and subordinated lending transactions.
