As Benesch continues to expand its national footprint in its San Francisco and Columbus offices, the firm has also announced the hiring of a partner and two associates in its Chicago office.
The firm is pleased to announce the additions of partner Bryna Dahlin, and associates James Ko and Samuel Ruggio, to its Chicago office. Dahlin joins the firm’s Litigation Practice Group; Ko joins the Health Care & Life Sciences Practice Group; and Ruggio joins the Litigation Practice Group.
“Bryna, James and Samuel are outstanding attorneys, and fill important needs for our clients,” said Gregg Eisenberg, Managing Partner and Executive Committee Member. “All three are able to consult our clients on what they seek most: creative solutions to complex business problems.”
Dahlin has experience navigating the cutting-edge legal issues present in the fast-growing cannabis industry. She represents a range of clients, from growers and distributors to product manufacturers and ancillary businesses, as well as outside investors and traditional companies impacted by cannabis laws.
She graduated with both a J.D. and B.A from the University of Illinois-Urbana-Champaign.
Ko advises health care providers on a wide range of disputes and regulatory issues. He represents doctors, dentists, pharmacists, nurses and social science practitioners in obtaining licensure, and defends them in investigations and actions brought by state and federal authorities, hospitals and professional organizations.
He graduated from Loyola University Chicago School of Law with an LL.M. in Health Law, and from the Michigan State University College of Law and the University of Michigan.
Ruggio focuses on complex patent litigation primarily in the pharmaceutical, chemical and biotechnology fields. He has worked on multiple Paragraph IV cases and helps generic pharmaceutical companies bring their products to market.
He graduated cum laude from The John Marshall Law School, and from Northern Illinois University.
Dahlin, Ko and Ruggio are joining Benesch’s Chicago office during a time of significant growth for the firm. More than 70 attorneys have joined the firm in the last 18 months. Since making its debut on the AmLaw 200 list in 2016, the firm has advanced 19 places and is currently ranked at number 176.
