Benesch welcomes Ruby Kazi to its Litigation Practice group in San Francisco.
Kazi is an experienced trial and appellate attorney who joins the firm as Of Counsel. She focuses her practice on working with business teams to formulate both offensive and defensive trial strategy and to conduct internal investigations and discovery. Kazi’s careful investigative work and analytical thinking enable her to argue cases successfully in court and to position her cases for favorable settlements, when appropriate.
Kazi’s notable work on behalf of clients includes successfully defending an entertainment company in a federal action brought by activist litigants, obtaining both a jury verdict for the defense and success on appeal. She has also counseled clients on workplace violence prevention, helping them obtain the legal protections they need when faced with credible threats, whether from internal or external sources.
“Ruby is a strong addition to our team and a great resource for our clients,” said Gregg Eisenberg, Managing Partner and Executive Committee Member. “She is skilled at tackling highly sensitive matters that require an attorney who can quickly mobilize a team to deliver a strategic, results-oriented approach to litigation. She’s also someone who shares our firm’s commitment to Diversity & Inclusion and has been a leader in the legal community in furthering the advancement of women and minorities in the profession.”
Kazi graduated from Drake University Law School and Northwestern University.
She joins a Litigation practice rapidly making a name for itself representing top-tier companies in high-profile matters. The team actively pursues cost-effective outcomes for multinational, publicly held and private companies, for-profit and non-profit boards and municipalities as well as other government lenders, insurers and individuals in alternative dispute resolution forums.
The firm overall has also earned recognition. Nationally, since making its debut on the AmLaw 200 list in 2016, Benesch has advanced 27 places and is currently ranked at number 168.
