As Benesch continues to expand its national commercial litigation practice, the firm announces that another attorney has joined its Chicago office. The firm is pleased to welcome Lee Muench, who joins as of counsel in its Litigation Practice Group.

A skilled and passionate litigator, Muench focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation and internal investigations. His substantive experience includes breach of contract, corporate governance litigation, business torts, and securities litigation. Muench has also extensive class action and product liability experience, both as a practicing lawyer and as a former law clerk in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Through his practice, Muench has represented a wide range of financial institutions, public companies, closely held corporations and individuals.
Muench is also passionate about providing pro bono legal services to underserved communities. Through collaborations with local legal services providers, Muench has achieved positive results for his pro bono clients in civil and criminal cases. In recognition of his efforts, Muench has received several awards for his pro bono accomplishments, including an Award for Excellence in Pro Bono and Public Interest Service from the Northern District of Illinois.
Muench graduated summa cum laude from University of Illinois Law School and from Northwestern University with a B.A. in Economics. He was recognized as “Ones to Watch” in Commercial Litigation and Health Care Law by Best Lawyers in 2021.
Muench is one of 20 new attorneys to join Benesch so far this year. Since making its debut on the AmLaw 200 list in 2016, Benesch has advanced 27 places and is currently ranked at number 168.
