As Benesch continues to add to its roster of top-notch legal talent, the firm pleased to announce that Mircea Tipescu has joined the firm as a Partner in Benesch’s Litigation Practice Group.
Mircea represents clients in intellectual property litigation matters and provides strategic counseling regarding all facets of patent protection and enforcement. On the litigation side, he has represented domestic and multinational clients in federal court and before the International Trade Commission. His experience includes bench and jury trials, post-grant review proceedings, summary judgment proceedings, Markman hearings, and fact and expert discovery.

As a licensed patent attorney, Mircea also combines legal know-how and technical experience to guide clients in patent prosecution, portfolio management, licensing, due diligence, and opinion matters. Known for delivering creative and practical solutions, Mircea seeks an in-depth appreciation of his clients’ business goals and industry challenges and works closely with clients to gain a thorough understanding of the technologies being developed and protected.
Mircea’s practice has covered a diverse array of technologies, including various mechanical and electro-mechanical devices, automotive systems, medical devices, clinical diagnostic equipment, power tools, commercial cooking equipment, computer software, telecommunications, and e-commerce.
Mircea received his J.D. from The George Washington University School of Law in 2001, his M.S. in Mechanical Engineering/Control Systems and Automation from Northwestern University in 1994, and his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Princeton University in 1992.
Mircea is one of over 20 new attorneys to join Benesch so far in 2021. Since making its debut on the AmLaw 200 list in 2016, Benesch has advanced 32 places and is currently ranked at number 164.
