As Benesch continues to add to its roster of top-notch legal talent, the firm is pleased to welcome Partner Ziyong “Sean” Li to the Intellectual Property/3iP Practice Group in San Francisco.
Sean focuses his practice on technology and intellectual property litigation and dispute resolution before both federal and state courts, arbitration tribunals, and government agencies, such as the United States International Trade Commission and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. He has represented both emerging and public companies as plaintiffs and defendants in complex litigation where technology is at the center of the dispute.
Sean’s expertise spans a wide variety of technologies, including telecommunication standards, artificial intelligence, microprocessor architecture designs, and blockchain and digital assets. Sean is also a registered patent attorney and works with clients in exploiting, licensing, and protecting their intellectual property assets. He provides strategic counseling on patent prosecution, licensing, acquisition, and product design concerning IP risk management. He has served as lead counsel in multiple Inter Partes Review proceedings involving cutting-edge technologies.
In addition to his intellectual property practice, he provides general legal counseling services to high-tech companies in other complex matters involving technology transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance.
Sean received his Juris Doctor from Washington University, Master of Law in Intellectual Property Law from Peking University, and his Bachelor of Science in Physics (major) and Psychology (minor) from Peking University.
