Benesch announces an addition to its Healthcare+ practice group. The firm welcomes associate Christopher DeGrande to its Chicago office.
DeGrande’s practice focuses on regulatory matters, including state and federal licensing, as well as Anti-Kickback and Stark issues, as well as corporate issues such as corporate practice of medicine prohibitions, transactional and contractual structuring and drafting, and transactional diligence review. He has experience with transactions involving health care entities in fields including hospital settings, dermatology, ambulatory surgery, orthopedics, home health, and behavioral health.
“Chris is a strong addition to our team. His background in the healthcare sector has provided him with a deep understanding of the challenges his clients face,” said Gregg Eisenberg, Managing Partner and Executive Committee Member. “Now more than ever, our healthcare industry clients are looking to us for guidance on key business decisions.”
DeGrande worked as a consultant at Cerner Corporation, a global supplier of health information technology solutions before attending law school. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Illinois College of Law, and magna cum laude from Creighton University.
DeGrande joins the Healthcare+ team as a trio of its members in Illinois were recognized as leaders in the field by Chambers & Partners in Chambers USA 2020. Jason Greis and Juan Morado, Jr. were recognized in the Up and Coming Healthcare category, while Mark Silberman was recognized in the Healthcare category. Overall, 28 Benesch attorneys across 8 practice areas were recognized by Chambers.
The firm overall has also earned recognition. Nationally, since making its debut on the AmLaw 200 list in 2016, Benesch has advanced 27 places and is currently ranked at number 168.
