As Benesch continues to add to its roster of top-notch legal talent, the firm is pleased to welcome Associate Danielle Maldonado to the Litigation and Labor & Employment Practice Group in Chicago.
Danielle has experience defending and counseling employers in labor and employment matters, including individual plaintiff and representative action litigation, wage and hour litigation, and compliance and workforce-related counseling.
Danielle represents employers in a diverse range of labor and employment matters arising under numerous federal and local laws, such as Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and numerous state and local laws. She represents clients in both state and federal courts, as well as before other state and federal agencies, including the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Illinois Department of Human Rights. In addition to her litigation practice, Danielle drafts, revises, and assists clients with employment policies, agreements, severance, and separation packages, and advises clients on creating safe, respectful, diverse, and inclusive workplaces.
Danielle maintains an active pro bono practice, representing families seeking asylum in the United States and is a recipient of the National Immigrant Justice Center’s Rising Star 2020 Award in recognition of these efforts. Danielle is also passionate about diversity and inclusion and was selected as a 2023 National Employment Law Council Academy Fellow for her commitment to advancing diversity and inclusion in management-side employment law.
Danielle earned her J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School and her Bachelor of Arts in Science, Technology and Society from Pomona College.
