Vinny is an aspiring trial lawyer, with sedulous commitment to his work, firm clients, and the community. Lately, his practice revolves around complex commercial claims, IP infringement matters, and commercial lease disputes.
Growing up in Akron, Vinny has always maintained a deep connection to Ohio. He played football at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School and continued his career at the University of Rochester, where he majored in Classics. Vinny also studied abroad in Naples, Italy, and now has a proficiency in both Latin and Ancient Greek and speaks conversational Italian.
Like another (more famous) STVM alumnus, Vinny returned home for the next stage of his career. He studied law at the University of Akron and quickly realized a passion for IP and commercial litigation. Focused on building a career in those fields, he balanced a full schedule of academic and experience-driven activities. As a 1L, Vinny won Akron’s Client-Counseling Competition, placing third regionally and in the top-forty nationally. Later, he was an Editor for Akron’s Law Review, Executive Board Secretary of the Student Bar Association, and a member of the Trademark Clinic. In the meantime, Vinny gained experience in the International Purchasing Office at Bridgestone America’s Tire Operations and The Sherwin-Williams Company’s Legal Department, before joining Benesch as a summer associate.
Since returning to Benesch as an associate, Vinny has been a valuable asset to our Litigation practice group and the community at large. Notably, in 2021, Vinny played a crucial role in his first jury trial, helping to end a 20-year-long lease dispute that resulted in a completely favorable jury verdict for our client. Vinny has also led a team of Benesch volunteers in the CMBA’s 3R’s Program, which regularly visits a local high school civics class to provide practical career advice and to educate inner city students on their rights and responsibilities under the U.S. Constitution.
