Rachel advises clients across the litigation life cycle.
She has played key roles in the development of case strategy, briefed successful dispositive motions in federal district courts, and drafted successful appellate briefs before several of the U.S. Courts of Appeals and in state appellate courts. Rachel also has both jury and bench trial experience, as well as grand jury experience, including experience preparing and presenting witnesses for testimony, arguing legal disputes before the court, managing the pretrial preparation process, and drafting trial papers, including motions in limine, jury instructions, voir dire, and verdict forms. She also has experience arguing before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and the Eighth District Court of Appeals for the State of Ohio.
Prior to joining Benesch, Rachel worked at a law firm in Chicago. Before that, she clerked for the Honorable Edward C. Prado of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and the Honorable Lucy H. Koh of the United States District Court for the Northern District of California.

Representative Experience
- Obtained summary judgment, affirmed on appeal, in a consumer class action litigation challenging the quality of aloe vera gels sold by some of the nation’s largest retailers.*
- Obtained reversal of an adverse district court decision in the Seventh Circuit on behalf of a pro bono client in a Section 1983 lawsuit alleging violation of constitutional rights arising from long-term solitary confinement and denial of adequate mental health care.*
- Served as a deputy special prosecutor in a criminal matter in Cook County involving charges of official misconduct, perjury, and obstruction of justice.*
- Obtained summary judgment, affirmed on appeal, for a cosmetics company in a putative class action alleging false advertising and improper drug classification.*
- Obtained a grant, vacate, and remand of a petition for writ of certiorari before the U.S. Supreme Court on behalf of a pro bono client in a criminal matter.*
- Obtained dismissal for a client in a false advertising class action litigation related to violations of three California laws – Unfair Competition Law, False Advertising Law, and Consumer Legal Remedies Act.*
