Alex has assisted employers in matters before state and federal courts as well as administrative agencies. He also counsels employers with respect to a broad range of labor and employment matters.
Alex has represented employers in actions brought under federal and state law, including the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA); discrimination claims under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act and the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA); wage and hour claims under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA); trade secret and/or restrictive covenant disputes; and traditional labor matters.
Alex also has extensive experience counseling employers on how to navigate current and upcoming changes to federal, state, and local employment law, assisting employers in drafting employee handbooks, policies, and agreements. He also regularly drafts client alerts relating to updates in labor and employment law and policy. Alex also prepares and leads presentations regarding legal updates for clients and local organizations.
During law school, Alex served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Algenon L. Marbley in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio. During college, Alex worked as an intern in the United States Senate for Senator Rob Portman and as an intern in the Ohio House of Representatives.
