Michael has significant experience litigating complex intellectual property matters in federal district courts nationwide and in inter partes review proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. He has represented clients in a variety of different fields, including pharmaceuticals, chemical compositions, consumer products, medical devices, automotive components, and software and semiconductor technology.
Michael was recently a member of a trial team that achieved a record-breaking $2.54 billion patent infringement jury verdict.
Michael has experience in all phases of patent litigation, including prelitigation investigations, discovery, motions practice, fact and expert depositions and testimony, claim construction, summary judgment, trials, and appeals in the United States Court of Appeal for the Federal Circuit. He also has experience in all phases of inter partes review proceedings, including drafting petitions and patent owner responses, expert depositions, and oral hearings. Michael recently drafted Patent Owner's Preliminary Responses that led to the denial of four inter partes review petitions.
Michael’s experience further includes cases involving claims of trademark infringement, unfair competition, trade secret misappropriation, breach of contract, tortious interference and breach of post-employment covenants.
