Maya focuses her practice on data privacy and complex commercial litigation, handling matters such as contract disputes, legal malpractice, business torts, data breaches and class actions.
A well-rounded and experienced litigator in both Federal and New York State courts, Maya has utilized her practice expertise to represent a wide-breadth of clients on all sides of litigation and dispute resolution, with topics including complex commercial transactions, transportation and logistics, healthcare and insurance, data privacy and compliance, trusts and estates, and more. Maya’s practice experience includes all stages of litigation, from pre-suit strategizing to discovery, depositions, motion practice, and trial. Her thoroughness, keen attention to detail, and strategic prowess ensure that clients are prepared and confident at each juncture of a dispute.
Prior to joining Benesch, Maya served as a law clerk at the New York County Commercial Division for three years under the Honorable Melissa A. Crane and the Honorable O. Peter Sherwood, drafting decisions for complex motions, shepherding litigants through discovery conflicts, and managing voluminous dockets. She was later an associate at Baker & Hostetler where she further honed her commercial litigation skill set.
