Cassie focuses her practice on healthcare matters in the transactional and regulatory space, including representation of physician practices and behavioral health providers. This includes working with residential care centers, facilities for youth and adolescents, substance use disorder (“SUD”) treatment providers, and entities offering Applied Behavior Analysis (“ABA”) services and pediatric therapy. In addition to her transactional work, Cassie regularly advises on compliance matters and regulatory matters, including corporate practice of medicine, anesthesiology, physical and occupational therapy, nephrology, women’s health, ambulatory surgery centers, skilled nursing facilities, and dentistry.
Cassie also has experience in advising healthcare payors on complex regulatory issues, licensing matters, and state insurance and healthcare law. Cassie has provided regulatory counsel and due diligence support for corporate mergers and acquisitions, including a $17.3 billion healthcare enterprise merger (including sale of a Medicaid plan), and has experience in insurance regulatory counsel for mergers and acquisitions of insurance companies, including pre and post-closing acquisition notifications, holding company filings, HMO licensing and change of control filing, and regulatory compliance with state insurance agencies. Cassie also works with Medicare and Medicaid regulatory issues, including compliance with Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement marketing, and state Medicare Advantage compliance investigations.
Cassie has also been involved in pro-bono work regarding elder and disability law, including leading two pro-bono representations for adult guardianship cases in Cook County, securing successful guardianship rulings for clients in each case.

- Negotiated and drafted value-based and risk contracts between payors and healthcare providers, including contracts for nephrology practices.
- Supported Seller in acquisition of behavioral health provider for sale of ABA service line in California and Massachusetts.
- Advise on Sober Living/Recovery Residence operations and accreditation in Ohio and New Jersey.
- Medicare Audits regarding billing and coding practices, including for psychological evaluation and provision of skilled nursing facilities.
- Represented private equity sponsor in its simultaneous acquisitions of an oncology practice service provider and a group purchasing organization.
- Provide compliance services for ABA provider for entry into new markets, including advising on corporate practice of medicine for BCBAs in various states.
- Serves as outside general counsel to SUD treatment family of companies.
- Represented vascular surgeon and his physician practice in sale to national private equity backed platform of vein clinics.
- Represented Buyer in acquisition of mental health inpatient and outpatient facilities in New York.
