Brian focuses on supply chain and distribution management, transportation, and logistics technology matters. He has previous experience at one of North America's largest transportation and logistics companies, where he was responsible for providing legal counsel to the company's supply chain and distribution management, intermodal rail, and Mexico service offerings. Brian provided strategic legal and risk guidance to the company's executive and senior leadership in this role. In addition, Brian managed various pre-litigation disputes involving the service offerings he supported. Throughout his career, Brian has drafted, reviewed, and negotiated various transportation and logistics contracts with several Fortune 500 companies across many industry verticals, including energy, automotive, retail, and electronics, amongst others.
Brian has further expertise in contracting transportation service providers in a multitude of transportation modes, including dry van truckload, rail, LTL, port and intermodal drayage, refrigerated, flatbed, bulk, final mile, and daily delivery/milk run services. Additionally, he has reviewed several agreements related to dedicated transportation services, power only services, shuttling services, as well as drop trailer, trailer interchange, and other equipment use agreements.
Brian also has experience in negotiating several agreements relating to supply chain technology, including agreements relating to transportation management systems, tracking and tracing, and business intelligence technologies. He also has experience providing legal guidance for warehousing, transloading and cross-dock operations, transportation equipment procurement, cargo claims, and freight charge disputes, amongst other matters. Brian is also well-versed in a variety of regulations, including USDOT (FMCSA and FRA), CARB/TRU, C-TPAT, and other cross-border transportation laws and regulations.
