Alyssa is a trial lawyer whose practice revolves around complex commercial matters where she represents clients on both the plaintiff and defense side.

Her commercial litigation experience is broad and includes breach of contract, products liability, real estate, corporate disputes and trade-secrets matters. Alyssa is passionate about trying cases and has experience doing so in critical and highly publicized matters. This drives her approach to developing tailored case strategy and counseling clients through all case benchmarks. She knows how to develop and exert leverage to maximize favorable outcomes for her clients and recognizes when disputes are ripe for resolution. Alyssa regularly counsels clients on best business practices, pre-litigation disputes and advises on other ways to mitigate risk and minimize exposure. She is known to develop creative business solutions in disputes that are seemingly impossible to resolve.

Alyssa is also heavily involved with associate development and mentoring. As the Co-Chair of the firm’s Hiring Committee, she plays a lead role in recruiting, hiring, mentoring and integrating summer associates. Since assuming this leadership position, Benesch’s Summer Program has been nationally recognized by The American Lawyer as a Top 40 Summer Associate Program. Alyssa believes it is critical to build the future of Benesch with bright talent and strong culture.

Representative Experience

  • Bench trial in federal bankruptcy court (September 2025). Alyssa was trial counsel for the Professional Bull Riders in a contested matter against Dr. Phillip C. McGraw (better known as Dr. Phil, the TV personality) and his media company, Merit Street Media, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Seeking to recover nine-figures in connection with a media rights deal, the Professional Bull Riders was the largest creditor and sought to convert the case to Chapter 7. Alyssa cross-examined Merit Street’s Chief Operating Officer and elicited key testimony that was incorporated into the Court’s order. After the bench trial concluded, the Court found in the Professional Bull Riders’ favor and converted the case to Chapter 7. The Wall Street Journal, The Independent, Variety, USA Today, Law360, The Dallas Morning News, Bloomberg Law, and others covered the trial.
  • Seven-figure breach of contract, warranty, and leasing dispute (November 2024). Alyssa was counsel for one of the nation’s leading car wash equipment manufacturers. She successfully overcame challenges to evidentiary and expert issues at a pretrial conference, forcing a favorable settlement for Alyssa’s client just before trial.
  • Seven-figure breach of contract action (May 2025). Alyssa was counsel for a company that designs and builds learning environments. She aggressively pursued claims against a challenging supplier for defective elementary school products. Alyssa successfully resolved the matter by constructing a hybrid business and settlement solution that was favorable for her client and preserved its business relationship with the supplier.
  • Ten-figure defamation action (April 2023 – January 2024). Deposed former National Security Advisor to the President of the United States and prepared and defended several directors, officers, and employees of the client in their depositions in a highly publicized defamation action.
  • Seven-figure breach of contract and fraud action (December 2024). Alyssa was counsel for a subsidiary of Fortune 500 technology company in a contentious matter with its customer. She obtained a favorable settlement for her client after protracted mediation.
  • Seven-figure jury trial in Ohio state court (March 2018). Alyssa was trial counsel for the plaintiff in a case involving an international hospital system. She direct-examined an important damages witness. At trial, the jury found in favor of the hospital system despite expert testimony (from all parties’ experts) that there was a clear deviation from the standard of care. Alyssa prepared and argued a motion for a new trial, relief which is seldom granted. The trial court granted the motion, forcing a significant settlement in favor of Alyssa’s client.
  • Nine-figure federal multidistrict litigation (January 2023). Alyssa was counsel for certain pharmaceutical manufacturers and distributors in a multidistrict litigation in New Jersey federal court that alleged products contained higher than acceptable levels of carcinogens. She successfully moved to dismiss several causes of action, forcing a deminimus settlement that extracted her clients from the case.
  • Bench trial in Delaware Chancery court (October 2024). Alyssa was trial counsel for the Chief Executive Officer of a railroad company in a dispute over a hostile leadership takeover. Alyssa cross-examined the company’s Chief Financial Officer. Case settled after trial.
  • Seven-figure federal products liability action (November 2019). Alyssa was counsel for an off-road vehicle manufacturer. She successfully argued more than ten motions in limine and several pre-trial issues in Arizona federal court, forcing a favorable settlement on the eve of trial.
  • Counsel for nationwide real estate development and investment firm and its subsidiary property management company in dozens of matters nationwide, resolving all such matters in favorable settlements or business solutions (pre- and post-litigation).
