Benesch is pleased to announce that Jackson M. Sattell and John P. Harig have joined the firm's Chicago office as associates.
Jackson is a skilled real estate and environmental attorney who represents his clients in all aspects of commercial real estate transactions, including developments, acquisitions and dispositions, debt financings, and leasing.
He received his J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School in 2016 and his B.A. in psychology and legal studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2012. At Wisconsin, Jackson was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and was awarded the Audrey J. Harris Summer Internship Scholarship, based on his leadership, academic performance, and potential for significant contribution to the field of criminal justice. At Vanderbilt, Jackson was the president of the school’s Health Law Society, a member of the Vanderbilt Journal of Entertainment and Technology Law, and received the award for Best Application in Technology in Legal Practice. Jackson worked as a judicial extern for the Honorable E. Clifton Knowles of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee.
John joins Benesch's Health Care and Life Sciences Practice Group. He represents healthcare providers in a broad range of regulatory, transactional, and corporate matters, including Anti-Kickback and Stark issues, corporate practice of medicine and fee-splitting prohibitions, state fraud and abuse laws, state licensure issues, transaction structuring, contract drafting, and due diligence. His clients include physician groups, hospitals, healthcare management companies, dental service organizations, ambulatory surgery centers, and dialysis centers.
He graduated summa cum laude from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in 2015 and received his bachelor’s degree in film and political science from the University of Notre Dame in 2011. As a law student, John was the inaugural recipient of the Richard A. Michael Endowed Scholarship. He competed on the Loyola Health Law Moot Court team and served as the Executive Director of Student Outreach and Marketing for the Health Law Society. John worked as a judicial extern for the Honorable Sidney Schenkier of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
