Allan counsels clients across various industries in domestic and cross-border mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures, and in financing, licensing, supply, distribution and other commercial transactions as well as in general business matters.
Allan co-chairs the firm’s China Practice, which he founded in 2003, is an active member of its Corporate & Securities Practice Group, which he chaired from 1985 through 1991, and served as the firm’s Managing Partner from 1991 through 1999.
His experience handling more than 1,000 M&A transactions during his 40+ year Benesch career facilitates Allan coming to understand each client’s concerns and objectives, and then working with each client and its other professionals to navigate transactions to successful conclusions.

Every year since 2006, Allan has been selected by his peers for inclusion in Best Lawyers in America® in Mergers and Acquisitions Law, and was selected as the 2018-2019 Mergers and Acquisitions Law Lawyer of the Year in the Cleveland, Ohio area.
Allan holds leadership positions and is actively involved with several local and national civic and charitable organizations.
